The bridge in the lower right corner will be the so-called Veterans Bridge, approved because of 3,000 $75 donations to the Medal of Honor Foundation--whose board includes the editor of The Chieftain and a County Commissioner--yet now having cost $1.2 million paid for by an additional $660,000 of Colorado DOT federal ARRA stimulus funds. They LOST the Convention Center expansion vote THREE TIMES! The Council unanimously (including the "liberal" majority) slipped through the allocation for the bridge on the consent agenda. Now they want stimulus funds to pay for the unwanted convention space. What part of NO do our public servants not understand?
