Shadow Council Comments
District 2 Council Representative Bill Simpson moved that the Golden Shadow Council confirm Shadow Mayor Laura McCall's appointment of Brian Starling and Chuck Baroch to the Northwest Quadrant and Policy and Steering Committees. Ward 4 Council Representative Jean Starling seconded the motion.
Dave Kibler:
"Councilman Starling represents the wider interests in Golden. I have full confidence in him to do his best to see that the highway is rerouted outside rather than through Golden."
Laura McCall
"Council Representatives Starling and Baroch have complementary talents and will make excellent partners on the policy and steering committees. Councilman Starling has the passion and Councilman Baroch brings a well-respected grasp of economics."
Bob Nelson
Mr. Nelson abstained because he wanted further information on Councilman Chuck Baroch's position on the Northwest Parkway.
Don Parker
"Chuck and Brian are both independent minded who people have been in the minority on many votes. They will take that same courage to the steering committees."
Valerie Walker
"I have full confidence in Mayor McCall's appointment of Counselors Starling and Baroch. Both have a strong commitment to retaining the small town atmosphere and quality of life of Golden."
