HEALTH ADVOCATES IS A CONSULTING GROUP of public health professionals with diverse
backgrounds and training. Consulting services are contracted for on a project basis, and
are carried out by project teams.
Who We Are
Patricia Ohmans, MPH is a public health practitioner with extensive experience in
community health programs. A founder of Minnesota's Center for Cross-Cultural Health,
she has also worked with a variety of health advocacy and service groups, including the
University of Minnesota Medical School, the Migrant Health Service and the Center for
Victims of Torture.
Associates are Barbara Babbitt, RN, MA, an experienced trainer with expertise in clinical
issues and cross-cultural bioethics, and Garth Osborn, MPH, a specialist in international
health and development as well as non-profit management and administration. Other associates with
experience in program design and evaluation, graphics and public relations and fundraising are
available as needed for specific projects.
