What Might You See?
For a Sunday service, come to the door on La Crosse St. and step inside. You will be met by a greeter, who will help you make a temporary name tag and will ask you to complete a quick visitor questionnaire. You’ll receive a visitor packet with lots of goodies about our Society and Unitarian Universalism to take with you. If you have children, the greeter will help steer them to the religious education area.
The entryway is a bit cramped, so we encourage everyone to find a seat in the sanctuary. Our Service Leader starts with announcements, followed by a call to worship where we light our chalice. During the service, there typically will be hymns, readings, a presentation or sermon, and the passing of the collection plate. We also have a period for joys and concerns, where congregants rise and tell others about milestones that may have occurred recently. We often have discussion after the presentation, time permitting, and close with a friendship circle, joining hands and singing “Go Now in Peace.” We then adjourn to the fellowship area and have coffee and conversation.
