What the Union has done for me

People ask me all the time "what can the Union do for me?" Well, we don't have a Union yet or do we?
In the last several months, I have learned so much about the people that I work with. I have seen people stand up for what they believe in even in the face of fear. The Union has helped me to be able to speak my opinions and has brought me so much closer to my co-workers. It has taught us all already how to work together for the common good of all. It has taught us to care about each other. It has made us strong and it has brought pride back into the work place.
I know that everyone does not agree, but I think that if they would just stop and think about what caring for one another can do to better the work place for everyone. I have no hard feelings towards anyone for their beliefs or opinions, everyone is entitled to that, but I have been disappointed in some of the ways that I have seen grown men act, and also the way managment has tried and continues to try to influence our choice. It is not their vote nor their decision, but they push their views and opinions on us.
The Union has shown me the value of freedom and how hard it is to have it and how so many people don't want you to have it. I am proud of everyones efforts for standing up for what they believe in.
Solidarity Works!!
