While perusing through the messages left on this bulletin board, all I can say is this is the saddest thing I have ever in my life seen.

The BS that you guys can come up with astounds me.

You talk about Hutch stating that if you didn't like it, then you could leave. What is wrong with that statement? I've always thought that we were free to decide where we worked. If it didn't feel right, then go find somewhere else.

I also hear about all the benefits that the union is going to get for you. Believe me, I have been a member of a union before and all it got me was a cut in pay!!!

Don't think for one instance that the union can guarantee you an increase in pay. They can't guarantee you that or anything else. If you vote a union in, then EVERYTHING is on the table when it comes to negotiations. AND I DO MEAN EVERYTHING.

The union people will make claims about increase in pay and benefits, job security etc. THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE ANY OF IT!!!!

There are some of you out there that have your mind made up and won't change it. No matter what anyone says or does, you are going to bitch and moan about it.

90% of the Georgia Marble workers in Sylacauga got a raise when the two companies merged. Did the union do that for you? Your benefits increased in the following ways. Your vacation days went up, you got more holidays, your retirement pension increased, etc. Did the union do that for you????? NO. The company did.

Let me ask you this. If the union is voted in and in the future, IMERYS decides to close the Sylacauga plant. Can the union guarantee you a job? NO.

Do you really believe that Frank Hutchison will retire if a union is voted in? If you believe that, then I've got some swamp land you'd probably be interested in.

Oh yeah, one of the stupidest things I saw on here was someone trying to make Mike Franklin out as some kind of hero. ARE YOU ON DRUGS? This guy was one of the most underhanded and dishonest people I've ever seen.

One of the biggest things I've seen here is the gripe about seniority. Someone griped about a man with twenty some odd years of service being passed up for a guy with only 5 or so. Did you ever ask this question? (Was the man with twenty or more years qualified for the job? Does he show any initiative?

I know several of the folks that are bitching and whining the most about needing a union. They are the ones who should really see that we don't need one. Keith Fulbright has one of the easiest jobs at the plant. He wasn't passed over. One of your lab techs hasn't done an honest days work since he's been out there. Everyone knows he writes up test results and doesn't run the tests. He's been there for almost 20 years!!!!! Should he be promoted?????

Are things perfect? No. They never will be. Union or no union. Could things improve? Certainly. However, if it is as bad as you claim it is, why are you still there? Do you like being miserable?

Since I didn't put a valid email address on this, then I'm sure it will be deleted. Just goes to show you, the union doesn't play fair either!!!!!!!
