System Breakdown

As an outsider looking in on all the tension and trouble that is being created by the debate of Union vs. NonUnion at the Sylacauga/Imerys plant, what seems to be apparent to me is that there has been a "systems breakdown" between management and it's workers LONG BEFORE the merger last year. It's proven fact that when formal systems don't work, then infomal systems develop (for example, the A-Team members). There is no other explanation why a woker would NOT WANT to have a say-so in his pay raises, benefits, promotions, etc.UNLESS the worker has managed to carve out a niche at work where he alone benefits.
My theory is that the A-Team members have capitalized on the break down of the formal managment, all to their own selfish benefit.
Poor and weak management can only serve to benefit a few, and ultimately destroy the company. Unions are for the good of ALL.
It is my 2 cents worth, that the only way to correct the breakdown at the Sylacauga plant is thru Unionization where the managment and the workers come together at the barginning table. Anything less will just prolong the injustices and create greater voids.
