| I would like to thank the European Unions for their solidarity and letters of support. It is a great comfort to know that we can support one another in the changing world of economic globalization. It is enevitable that we must work together for workers rights and our freedoms that we so desperately need to protect.
I have been an employee of ECC/Imerys for about 10 years and I am alarmed, disappointed and offended by the anti-union actions taken by management against its employees. It has turned workers and management against each other at a time when we should be working together to create a stonger and more competitive Imerys for tomorrow. But Imerys management has refused to acknowledge the value of its workforce by deny them their freedom of choice and a fair election. If the Unions efforts are destroyed thru fear and intimadation, if workers are afraid to speak out, what kind of workforce do you really have??? The only fair move for Imerys to do is to respect the request of a card check. Thanks again for the support from our brother and sisters in Europe. |
