On October 2 we picketed the station on Laburnum avenue which is directly across teh street from the Virgnia State Fair which was going on. We passed out a lot of fliers to the fair goers, as well as stopped a lot of traffic at the station.

On October 7, 1999 in the PACE Region 4 Council Meeting here in Richmond, there was over $600 taken up for the Adopt-A-Family program. Fifteen of the delegates left the council meeting and joined with me that afternoon in a rally at the Laburnum Avenue Station. An employee at that Crown station called the poice to make us leave, but the police officer told the Crown employee that as long as the rally participants were not breaking any laws they could not be made to leave. We were successful there.

The Region 4 Council Meeting was a success, with 57 locals sending a total of 112 delegates.
