Labor Day - Charlotte, NC
Author James Broaddus

A special thank you goes to Ed and Eileen Hanson-Kelly for organizing the Labor Day parade in Charlotte, North Carolina. There were approximately 4,000 people in attendance.

During the Rally, speeches concerning labor problems were given by Congressman Mel Watts, James Andrews, President of the North Carolina AFL-CIO, Hardy Smith, a locked-out Crown worker from Texas, Earl Propst, President United Steel Workers Local 850, and Matt Amet, AFLOC.

I decorated my automobile with red, white and blue streamers and posted signs with "Say No to Union-Busting, Racism and Sexism"!

An amplifer was placed on a roof steadily playing, "So No To Racism, Sexism and Union-Busting"!

It is great to see how much support we are receiving for the Crown Boycott!
