Supporting our locked out Steelworker brothers & sisters

Brothers & Sisters,

Alvin Freeman and I joined the locked out steelworkers at the Crown Plaza Hotel for a mini conference to rally and build support leading to the shareholder meeting in Huntsville, Texas on 5/19/99.

After listening to all the speeches, Alvin and I looked at each other and said, "It sure sounds familiar." CEO Hurwitz is running the MAXAAM Corporation Like CEO Rosenberg is running Crown Petroleum ... straight to the ground.

About 2:30 p.m. we marked from the Crown Plaza parking lot to the Maxaam headquarter building on San Felipe Blvd., about a 2 mile march singing and chanting Union slogans.

PACE Local 4-227 President Tom Gentry and I carried our banner, "It's been 3 years and we're still here!" Alvin carried his, "Say NO to Union busting and Human Rights are not for sale!"

Alvin also gave one of his better speeches. He had everyone clapping and chanting Union slogans.

In solidarity!
