On Good Friday, Baltimore religious groups held the 16th live stations of the cross in downtown Baltimore. Started by the Catholic group PAX CHRISTI in New York City, the live stations have been adopted around the country. In Pax Christi stations, sites representing injustice are walked to by the participants, and a short service combines readins from Scripture, plus commentary on the particular injustice. For the past three years, we have stopped at the Blaustein Building which has the corporate offices of Crown. We have talked of the continuing lockout, and read Scripture readings about workers. This year I inluded some prayers sent out by the Interfaith Committee on Worker Justice. The Baltimore SUN featured a large, multi-color picture of the participants on the front page of April 22 paper. We also had stations speaking about other social justice issues. We have faithful folks who walk the two-hour stations every year, and we feel this exercise highlights the true meaning of the Christian remembrance of Good Friday. Mary Kambic
