| On Saturday, April 8, 2000, in the Birmingham-area, we had a jamming picket going on at a Crown gas station in the very cold and windy weather.
At the 3rd Avenue West and Bessemer Road Crown station, the Mt. Pilgrim Christian Academy group turned away 93 would-be gas buyers in 2 ½ hours. The group was cold and wet at times, but they were very good and determined troopers that stuck it out as long as they could. Sharron Payne headed this group; in her group were Kristie Payne, Tera Woods, Anthony Turner, Earnest Roper, Kherasta Nash, and Ed Steele. I want to thank this outstanding group for their support.
