Dear Friends, I had promised to post Fr. Joe Muth's statement which he had prepared for the Crown annual meeting at Turf Valley. Because his proxy was rejected, he was unable to deliver his comments. Here they are: Mr. Rosenberg, Father Ridley, My name is Fr. Joe Muth and I am pastor of St. Matthew's Church in Baltimore. I am a member of the Catholic-Labor Support Group-Catholics for Justice at Crown Central Petroleum-I ask the other members to stand. Mr. Rosenberg, I had one of your employees, a locked-out worker from Texas, speak at St. Matthews last year. Fr. Ridley, our committee has written to you several times over that last year in order to meet with you. You have continually told us through your letters that since you were a member of the board, you did ot think it was appropriate to meet with us. We simply wanted to speak with you about Catholic social teaching of the last 100 years, and how it applies to the locked-out workers at Crown. Since you refused to meet with us, this is the only forum available for us to speak with you. We still hope to meet with you and will work towards that end. We hope you are bringing the Catholic social teachings to the meetings of the Board. Thank you, Fr. Joe Muth and the Catholic-Labor Support Committee-Catholics for Justice at Crown Central Petroleum
