Martin Luther King March The Greatest Ever in Atlanta
Author Gladys Haley
Date 00/01/27/09:42

I would like to thank PACE Representatives Andrew Shelton, Lynn Baker, and especially the locked out workers of Crown: Alvin Freeman, Danny Duncan, Betty Maiden, Karen Sloane, and John Grant. Quite an impression was made on the crowd.

Days later, I was approached by several people at the Carter Center, where I attended the National Coalition On Health Care, along with PACE Vice President, Glenn Goss. This invitation by Vice President Goss afforded me the opportunity not only to meet President Jimmy Carter, but to also update the attendees on the Crown Boycott.

I would also like to thank the Cobb County Transit Workers for there support during the rally. One of the transit drivers had been dismissed a week before the rally for speaking out to the press regarding bad working conditions.

I would like to send a special "thank-you" to Channels 5 and 11 for airing the march. You too, helped make this very special.

Solidarity forever.
Gladys
