ON THE OTHER hand, Americans might be motivated to avoid the costs to
themselves -- including moral and morale costs -- that arise from a
war against Iran, especially in the light of what will likely be a
continuing disaster in Iraq. NB: that disaster is not just one for the
Iraqis or for US GIs or the US government budget. It may lead to the
reinstatement of the draft.
