My friend has been in the Pueblo County Jail for over a year without a trial. I have gone to room 503 in the Dennis Maes Judicial Center to observe, and the Judge has always “kicked the can down the road” for another several months. It is all about re-scheduling. Last time there was standing room only, and no parking, while a private sector towing company cashes in. Now, how did the County's brand new Courthouse become inadequate so fast. And how does that relate to the so-called need for more cops, a new jail, and the shocking reality of private deportation prisons. Doug Ohmans Pueblo |
